The only real sport at New College of Florida-the New College Sailing Team
This year the team qualified for a sports national championship in sailing held at St. Mary's College of Maryland
This is the only real sport at NCF, and a first for the history books, folks!
The New College Sailing Team qualified for their District Championship which was held this past weekend at JU.
The top 6 teams at this event qualify for Round 1 of the Gill College Sailing National Championships held at St. Mary's College of Maryland this June 2nd and 3rd, 2014. The top 18 teams from the Eastern and Western Semifinals in the nation qualify for this National Championship!
This past Easter weekend the New College Women's Team competed against 6 other schools in the Saisa Women's Championship at North Carolina/Wilmington on Wrightsville Beach.
It was raining sideways and chilly! The Nulls had a great time, and traveled the farthest any New College sports team has ever gone!!

South Points #3 Hosted by New College of Florida Waterfront & Sail Club
James Montgomery with crew Orion Morton sailed in A Division with the help towards the end of the day from Brendan Irons and Joshua Devine.
Margaret Swerloff and Abigail Oakes sailed in B Division encountering very light and shify conditions in the morning , switching to a brisk sea breeze in the afternoon with gusts to 15 knots.
Cornell Lee, Sophia Schultz, Taran Wilkins, Francisco Perez, and Mac Grey helped out with Race Committee and team support on the water.
The team ended up 3rd in A Division and B Division, placing 4th overall and having a good time out on the water!
